António Tomás is an anthropologist trained at Columbia University. He is the author of various publications, in Portuguese and English, namely a biographical study on the life of the African nationalist Amilcar Cabral, Amílcar Cabral; the life of a reluctant nationalist (Hurst, 2021) and on Luanda (Angola’s capital city), In the skin of the city: Spatial Transformation in Luanda (Duke University Press, 2022). He is currently an associate professor in the Graduate School of Architecture, at the University of Johannesburg (South Africa).
