Marta Macedo
Marta Macedo (PhD Coimbra 2010) is a historian of science and technology with a prior degree in Architecture. Her previous research addressed the relation between technoscientific landscapes and nation-building. As a postdoctoral fellow at the CIUHCT – University of Lisbon, and as a visiting researcher at the University of California – Los Angeles, she began developing her current interest on plantations and the global histories of empires. In the Colour of Labour project, she is directly involved with the field of São Tomé-Angola, focusing on the circulation of technological knowledge and practices across coffee and cocoa plantations and their racialized labour regimes
