Marcelo Moura Mello
Marcelo Moura Mello holds his masters degree on social anthropology from Universidade Estadual de Campinas (Brazil) and a PhD in social anthropology from Museu Nacional, Universidade Federal do Rio de Janeiro (Brazil).
He is assistant professor at Universidade Federal da Bahia. His field research is in Guyana (formerly British Guiana), among East Indians. Currently, he is a visiting scholar at Instituto de Ciências Sociais, Universidade Lisboa, where he’s a member of the research project “The Colour of Labour: the racialized lives of immigrants”, coordinated by Cristiana Bastos, with financing from the European Research Council.
