Asso’o Jeanne Rita Kantu
A.J.Rita Kantu (MA Witwatersrand 2017) studied Social Anthropology with a focus on food, commodities, cultural materiality, political economy, race, decolonisation and the global South. As a CISA Research Fellow under the guidance of Sharad Chari, she studied Hindu spirituality and commodity advertising in Mauritius.
In the Colour of Labour project, she is directly involved with the field of Mauritius, addressing systems of racism and the commoditisation of land, labour and leisure on plantation estates.
