MOBILE LABOUR Symposium

The “Mobile Labour” Symposium will combine and connect ethnographic and analytic approaches to the worlds of mobile labour, whether contemporary or historical. Scholars invited to take part in the event will explore topics such as: how mobility and labour conflate to create and perpetuate particular conditions of segregation, discrimination and differentiation; the specific conditions of movements for labour (migrant trajectories, economic-induced displacements), movements as labour (highly mobile jobs), and movements of labour (labour-related geographical displacement and its different rhythms); and the associated (re)production of ideologies, stereotypes, processes and conditions of exclusion, including racialization and other forms of inequality and social hierarchization.
